Bosch Dishwasher E09 Error – Robina
A customer in Robina contacted ISB Electrical because their Bosch dishwasher was no longer heating the water and displayed an E09 error code. The dishwasher was still filling, washing and draining, but the dishes were cold, wet and not drying properly at the end of the cycle.
Bosch E09 is a common heating fault on Bosch dishwashers fitted with an integrated wash motor and heater assembly. On many modern Bosch models, the heating element is built into the circulation pump and cannot be replaced separately.
Inspection and Diagnosis
Our technician carried out a full electrical diagnosis to confirm whether the problem was caused by the heater, wiring, temperature sensor or electronic control board.

- Checked dishwasher heating circuit

- Checked NTC temperature sensor circuit

- Measured resistance of the integrated heater
- Performed continuity and insulation testing
Fault Found
Testing confirmed the integrated heating element inside the Bosch wash motor was open circuit. Because the heater is built into the circulation pump assembly, the heating element could not be replaced separately.
The correct repair was to replace the complete Bosch wash motor / circulation pump and heater assembly.
Repair Completed
The complete Bosch wash motor and integrated heater assembly was replaced. After installation, we tested the dishwasher through filling, washing, heating and draining stages.
The dishwasher heated correctly, completed the wash cycle normally, and the E09 fault cleared.

Bosch E09 usually relates to a heating circuit failure. The most common cause is an open circuit heater inside the heat pump or circulation motor assembly.
