A customer in Southport contacted ISB Electrical because their Bosch dishwasher stopped mid-cycle and the drain pump continued running. The appliance would not start a normal wash cycle.

After inspection, we found water in the dishwasher base tray. This activated the flood switch and put the Bosch dishwasher into anti-flood protection mode.

Fault Found

The fault was caused by a cracked sump seal. Water leaked from the sump area into the base tray, activating the flood switch.

A cracked sump seal must be repaired correctly because continued water leakage can damage wiring, the wash motor, drain pump, control module and other electrical components inside the dishwasher base.
