A customer in Ormeau contacted ISB Electrical because their Samsung dryer had stopped working. The dryer was not operating normally and required inspection to confirm whether the fault was caused by airflow restriction, overheating, wiring, motor or electronic control failure.

• Inspected the main PCB operation
• Confirmed the dryer requires a new main PCB

Fault Found

The dryer had a large amount of fluff and dust build-up inside the appliance. This was cleared and removed during the inspection.

After cleaning and testing, the main fault was confirmed as a faulty main PCB. The dryer requires a new main control board to restore normal operation.

Repair Required

The main PCB needs to be replaced. After fitting the new main control board, the Samsung dryer should be tested to confirm correct start-up, heating operation, airflow and cycle completion.

The customer was also advised to keep the lint filter and dryer ventilation areas clean, as heavy fluff and dust build-up can restrict airflow and contribute to overheating or electrical component stress.
