Bosch Dishwasher Won’t Start – Tugun

A customer in Tugun contacted ISB Electrical because their Bosch dishwasher would not start the wash cycle. The dishwasher had power, but it was not filling with water, so the program could not continue.

Bosch dishwashers commonly use an AquaStop safety inlet hose system. If the AquaStop valve fails, the dishwasher may not allow water into the machine. This can make the appliance appear as if it is not starting, even though the main issue is a water filling fault.

Inspection and Diagnosis

• Checked the dishwasher power supply and basic operation
• Confirmed the dishwasher was not filling with water
• Checked the water tap and inlet hose connection
• Inspected the AquaStop inlet hose assembly
• Tested the inlet valve circuit for continuity
• Checked wiring and connection points to the water inlet system
• Confirmed the dishwasher was stopping because water was not entering the appliance
• Identified the faulty component before advising repair options

Fault Found

The fault was caused by a broken Bosch AquaStop inlet valve. The valve had an open circuit, which meant it could not operate and allow water into the dishwasher.

Because the dishwasher could not fill with water, the machine could not begin the wash cycle correctly. This made the dishwasher appear as though it would not start.

Repair Required

The faulty AquaStop inlet hose valve required replacement. After replacing the AquaStop assembly, the dishwasher should be tested through the filling, washing and draining stages to confirm normal operation.

The customer was advised not to continue trying to run repeated cycles until the water filling fault was repaired, as the dishwasher cannot wash correctly without proper water intake.
