A customer in Southport contacted ISB Electrical because their Bosch dishwasher was not filling with water. The dishwasher had power and the program could be selected, but water was not entering the machine and the wash cycle could not start correctly.

Bosch dishwashers commonly use an AquaStop inlet hose system. The AquaStop valve controls water entering the dishwasher and also provides water safety protection. If the AquaStop valve fails, the dishwasher may not fill with water at all.

Inspection and Diagnosis

• Checked dishwasher power supply and control response
• Confirmed the dishwasher was not filling with water
• Checked the water tap and inlet hose connection
• Inspected the Bosch AquaStop inlet hose assembly
• Checked the inlet filter for restriction or blockage
• Tested the AquaStop valve operation
• Checked wiring and electrical connection to the inlet system
• Confirmed the faulty AquaStop before completing the repair

Fault Found

The fault was caused by a faulty AquaStop inlet valve. The dishwasher was not receiving water because the AquaStop valve had failed and could not open correctly.

Because water was not entering the dishwasher, the machine could not begin the wash cycle properly. This type of fault can make the dishwasher appear as though it is not starting, even though the main problem is the water inlet system.

Repair Completed

The faulty AquaStop was replaced. After replacement, the dishwasher was tested through the filling stage to confirm water entered the machine correctly.

The dishwasher was then tested through the wash and drain stages to confirm normal operation. After the AquaStop replacement, the Bosch dishwasher filled with water correctly and was able to start the wash cycle.
