Inspection and Diagnosis

• Inspected the filter and sump area for food debris or foreign objects
• Checked the drain hose and sink waste connection
• Tested the drain cycle and pump operation
• Inspected wiring and connections to the drain pump

Fault Found

The fault was caused by a faulty drain pump. The dishwasher was unable to remove water correctly during the drain stage, which caused the appliance to stop and not complete the cycle.

Because the water could not be pumped out, the LG dishwasher remained full of water in the lower sump area. This prevented normal cycle operation and made the dishwasher appear as though it had stopped working completely.

Repair Completed

The faulty drain pump was replaced. After replacement, the dishwasher was tested through the drain stage to confirm that water was pumping out correctly through the drain hose.

The LG dishwasher was then tested through normal operation to confirm the drain problem was resolved and the machine could continue the cycle correctly.
