Chef Oven Not Heating – Ormeau

Chef Oven Not Heating – Ormeau

A customer in Ormeau contacted ISB Electrical because their Chef oven was not heating correctly. The oven was switching on, but it was not reaching the required cooking temperature.

When an electric oven is not heating, the most common causes include a faulty fan forced element, blown bake element, faulty thermostat, selector switch fault, damaged wiring or control problem. In this case, the fault was found in the fan forced heating system.

Inspection and Diagnosis

  • Checked the oven power supply and safety condition
  • Confirmed the Chef oven was not heating correctly
  • Checked the fan operation inside the oven cavity
  • Tested the fan forced heating element
  • Inspected oven wiring and element connections
  • Checked the oven temperature response
  • Inspected the oven light circuit and globe condition
  • Confirmed the faulty parts before completing the repair

Fault Found

The main fault was a faulty fan forced element. The fan element was not heating correctly, which prevented the oven from reaching normal cooking temperature.

During the inspection, the oven light bulb was also found to be blown. A blown oven globe does not usually stop the oven from heating, but it makes it harder to monitor cooking and should be replaced during the service if required.

Repair Completed

The faulty fan forced element was replaced. The blown oven light bulb was also replaced during the repair.

After the repair, the Chef oven was tested to confirm the fan forced heating function was restored. The oven was checked for correct heating operation and the light was tested.

Common Causes of Chef Oven Not Heating

  • Faulty fan forced element
  • Blown bake element
  • Faulty grill element
  • Faulty thermostat or temperature sensor
  • Burnt selector switch
  • Damaged wiring or loose terminal connection
  • Control board or timer fault
  • Power supply issue to the oven circuit
