LG Fridge Not Cooling in Labrador
ISB Electrical attended an LG refrigerator repair job in Labrador where the customer reported that the fridge was not cooling properly and an FF-E error code was showing on the display.
LG refrigerators use internal fan motors to circulate cold air between the freezer and fridge compartments. When a freezer fan motor fails, the appliance may still power on but cooling performance becomes poor or uneven.
Customer Complaint
The customer noticed that the fridge temperature was rising and the display showed an FF-E error. Food in the fresh food section was not staying cold, even though the refrigerator still had power.
Diagnosis
We inspected the freezer compartment, evaporator area, internal fan motor, wiring harness, control board output and airflow path between the freezer and fridge sections.
The FF-E error code indicated a fan-related fault, so particular attention was given to the freezer compartment fan motor and its electrical supply.
Fault Found
Testing confirmed that the fan motor inside the freezer compartment had failed. Because the fan was not operating correctly, cold air could not circulate properly through the refrigerator.
Repair Carried Out
The faulty freezer fan motor was identified as the cause of the cooling problem. The customer was advised regarding replacement of the fan motor to restore correct airflow and cooling performance.
