Miele Dishwasher Making Noise – Robina
A customer in Robina contacted ISB Electrical because their Miele dishwasher had started making a loud grinding noise during the wash cycle.
The dishwasher was still washing dishes, however the noise became progressively worse and could be heard throughout the house.
Inspection and Diagnosis
- Confirmed excessive noise during wash cycle
- Checked spray arm operation
- Inspected circulation pump assembly
- Removed wash motor and impeller housing
- Found broken glass inside circulation pump
- Inspected impeller for damage
- Tested dishwasher after repair
Fault Found
The fault was caused by glass fragments trapped inside the circulation pump.
The glass pieces became lodged around the impeller and damaged the impeller blades, creating excessive noise whenever the wash motor operated.
Repair Completed
The circulation pump was dismantled and all glass fragments were removed from the impeller housing.
The damaged impeller was cleaned and inspected. The circulation pump was reassembled and tested through a complete wash cycle.
After repair, the dishwasher operated quietly and wash performance returned to normal.
