Miele Dishwasher Intake/Drain Fault – Coomera

A customer in Coomera contacted ISB Electrical because their Miele dishwasher repeatedly displayed an Intake/Drain Fault and stopped during the wash cycle.

The dishwasher would sometimes fill with water but then stop and show the warning. This type of Miele fault can be related to the water inlet system, flow meter, non-return valve, drainage system or control circuit.

Inspection and Diagnosis

• Checked incoming water supply and pressure
• Inspected inlet valve operation
• Tested flow meter signal
• Checked non-return valve assembly
• Inspected sump and drain system
• Checked drain pump operation
• Performed complete cycle testing

Fault Found

Testing confirmed the flow meter was faulty and was not accurately reporting water flow to the control module.

We also found the non-return valve rubber seal was deteriorated. This caused water flow irregularities and contributed to the Intake/Drain fault.

Repair Completed

The faulty flow meter was replaced and the non-return valve issue was corrected. The sump and drain area were checked and cleaned as part of the repair.

After repair, the Miele dishwasher filled, circulated and drained correctly. The Intake/Drain fault cleared and the appliance completed the cycle normally.
