Westinghouse Dishwasher Not Starting in Hope Island
ISB Electrical attended a Westinghouse dishwasher repair job in Hope Island where the customer reported that the dishwasher would not start.
The appliance had power available, however the dishwasher would not begin a wash cycle and appeared unresponsive.
Customer Complaint
The customer advised that the dishwasher had been working normally before suddenly refusing to start. The control panel was not operating correctly and no wash program could be started.
Diagnosis
We inspected the incoming power supply, door switch circuit, control panel, wiring harness and main power control board.
After removing the control board cover, signs of insect contamination were found around the electronic components.
Fault Found
The main power control board had been damaged by cockroaches.
Evidence of insect activity and contamination was present on the circuit board, causing damage to electronic components and preventing normal dishwasher operation.
Repair Carried Out
The control board was inspected and tested. The customer was advised that the damaged main PCB required replacement to restore reliable dishwasher operation.
