Westinghouse Dishwasher F2 Error in Parkwood
ISB Electrical attended a Westinghouse dishwasher repair job in Parkwood after the customer reported that the dishwasher stopped during a wash cycle and displayed an F2 error code.
The dishwasher would start normally, but part way through the cycle the machine stopped operating and the error appeared on the display.
Customer Complaint
The customer advised that the dishwasher had stopped mid-cycle with water still inside the appliance. Resetting the dishwasher did not permanently clear the fault and the F2 error returned during operation.
Diagnosis
We inspected the heating circuit, NTC temperature sensor, wiring harness, connectors and main control board.
Electrical testing was carried out on the NTC sensor to check whether the resistance reading changed correctly with temperature.
Fault Found
Testing confirmed that the NTC temperature sensor was faulty and providing incorrect temperature information to the control board.
Because the dishwasher could not accurately monitor water temperature, the control system stopped the wash cycle and displayed the F2 error code.
Repair Carried Out
The faulty NTC temperature sensor was replaced and the wiring connections were checked.
After replacement, the dishwasher was tested through a complete wash cycle. The appliance completed the cycle normally and the F2 error did not return.
