A customer in Surfers Paradise contacted ISB Electrical because their Omega induction cooktop was not heating properly. The cooktop powered on, but one of the cooking zones failed to generate heat when a pot was placed on it.
The induction cooktop turned on and responded to controls, but one element was not heating. Other zones were working normally. This is a common issue in induction cooktops and usually indicates a fault in the power electronics or coil system.
We carried out a full inspection of the induction module, power supply, internal wiring and control system. Testing confirmed that the faulty zone was not receiving correct power from the induction control board.
In many Omega induction cooktops, this type of fault is related to a failed semiconductor component (IGBT module) and a damaged circuit on the main power control board.
The faulty component in the power control system was identified and repaired. After completing the repair, the cooktop was tested across all zones and power levels.
The induction cooktop returned to full working condition, with all elements heating correctly and operating safely.
