LG Fridge Ice Maker Not Working in Hope Island
ISB Electrical attended an LG refrigerator repair job in Hope Island where the customer reported that the refrigerator had stopped producing ice.
The water supply was operating correctly, however the ice maker was no longer producing ice cubes and the ice storage bin remained empty.
Customer Complaint
The customer noticed that ice production gradually reduced before stopping completely. The refrigerator and freezer compartments appeared to be operating normally, but no fresh ice was being produced.
Diagnosis
We inspected the ice maker assembly, ice room fan motor, freezer compartment airflow, wiring harness and electronic control system.
Special attention was given to the ice maker fan circuit because proper airflow is essential for ice production in LG refrigerators.
Fault Found
Testing confirmed that the ice maker fan motor located inside the freezer compartment had failed.
Because the fan motor was not operating, cold air could not circulate correctly through the ice maker section. As a result, the ice maker was unable to maintain the required temperature for ice production.
Repair Carried Out
The faulty ice maker fan motor was identified and the customer was advised regarding replacement of the defective component. The wiring and control circuits were also checked to ensure no additional faults were present.
