Asko Dishwasher Not Draining in Worongary
ISB Electrical attended an Asko dishwasher repair job in Worongary where the customer reported that the dishwasher was not draining properly and water was left inside the machine after the cycle.
Asko dishwashers can stop draining due to a blocked filter, drain pump obstruction, blocked drain hose, faulty pump or foreign objects trapped inside the pump chamber.
Customer Complaint
The customer advised that dirty water remained in the bottom of the dishwasher. The appliance attempted to drain, but the water was not being pumped out correctly.
Diagnosis
We inspected the filter, sump area, drain pump, non-return valve, drain hose and sink connection.
The drain pump was removed and checked for foreign objects that could prevent the impeller from rotating.
Fault Found
A piece of broken glass was found stuck inside the drain pump.
The glass was preventing the pump impeller from rotating correctly, which stopped the dishwasher from draining water out of the appliance.
Repair Carried Out
The broken glass was removed from the drain pump and the pump impeller was checked for damage.
The dishwasher was then tested through a drain cycle. After the obstruction was removed, the dishwasher drained correctly and returned to normal operation.
