ISB Electrical attended an Asko dishwasher repair job on the Gold Coast after the customer reported that the dishwasher stopped during the wash cycle and displayed an F56 error code.
The dishwasher filled with water, but the wash motor could not operate correctly. As a result, the spray arms did not circulate water properly and the wash cycle could not continue.
The customer advised that the dishwasher would start normally, then stop part way through the cycle with the F56 error displayed. Dishes were not being washed properly because water circulation was weak or absent.
We inspected the wash motor, circulation pump, capacitor, wiring connections and control system.
Electrical testing was carried out on the wash motor capacitor to confirm whether the motor had correct starting assistance during operation.
Testing confirmed that the capacitor on the wash motor was faulty.
Because the capacitor was not providing correct starting support, the wash motor could not run correctly. This caused poor water circulation and triggered the F56 error.
The faulty wash motor capacitor was identified and replacement was recommended.
After capacitor replacement, the wash motor should be tested through a complete wash cycle to confirm proper circulation and normal dishwasher operation.
F56 is commonly associated with a circulation or wash motor fault. The dishwasher control system detects that water is not being circulated correctly during the wash cycle.
Depending on the model, this may be caused by a faulty wash motor, failed capacitor, wiring fault, blocked circulation system or control board issue.
If your Asko dishwasher is displaying an F56 error on the Gold Coast, ISB Electrical can diagnose the fault and provide a practical repair solution.
