ISB Electrical attended an Asko dishwasher repair job in Robina after the customer reported that the dishwasher stopped during operation and displayed an F54 error code.
The appliance had activated flood protection and would not continue the wash cycle.
The customer advised that the dishwasher stopped mid-cycle with an F54 error on the display. Water was left inside the bottom tray and the dishwasher would not reset normally.
We inspected the bottom tray, flood switch, sump area, circulation system, drain system and internal seals.
Water was found in the lower base tray, confirming that the dishwasher flood protection system had been activated.
The flood switch had activated because water had leaked into the bottom tray.
Further inspection found water leaking from the sump seal. The leaking sump seal allowed water to escape during operation and collect in the base of the dishwasher.
Water was removed from the bottom tray and the leaking area was inspected. The sump seal was identified as the source of the leak.
The customer was advised that the sump seal required replacement to stop the leak and prevent the F54 flood fault from returning.
F54 is commonly associated with an internal leak or flood protection fault. When water enters the bottom tray, the flood switch activates and the dishwasher stops operation to prevent further water damage.
If water remains in the base tray, the dishwasher may continue to display fault codes and refuse to operate. Ongoing leaks can damage electrical components, flooring and cabinetry.
